About the Bremen Ratskeller

The Bremer Ratskeller has been an integral part of Bremen’s history since 1405 and is one of the oldest wine cellars in Germany. Located in the heart of Bremen’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, the town hall, it combines over 600 years of wine tradition with modern gastronomy. Originally founded as a “city wine cellar”, it developed into the wine capital of northern Germany and today houses the oldest Ratskeller wine, a Rüdesheimer from 1653.

Visitors can expect an exclusive range of German wines, including numerous house-bottled wines, as well as atmospheric tours through historic cellars.

initial situation

The aim of the project is to adapt the unstable Shopware5 environment of the current Ratskeller shop to the modern and innovative Shopware6 system. Furthermore, the focus is on creating a platform that is as high-performance, secure and scalable as possible in order to ensure more efficient working. In addition, the connection to the Navision (NAV) ERP system is to be improved and stabilised.

Our idea

The Ratskeller web shop has been technically migrated to a modern and more secure Shopware 6 environment in order to achieve higher performance and scalability. In addition, the connection to the Navision (NAV) ERP system has been improved and stabilised. This guarantees simplified handling and maintenance of the shop. At the same time, the shop was given a fresh look and feel thanks to intuitive, consistent UX/UI designs.
