Holz-Leute is a traditional Munich-based family business that has been offering high-quality wooden products since 1873. Founded by master woodturner Josef Leitl, it has grown from a small craft workshop into a well-known specialist shop at the Viktualienmarkt. With a unique selection of kitchen utensils, toys, shaving accessories and folk art, Holz-Leute stands for craftsmanship, top quality and sustainable materials. Each piece is unique and combines tradition with modern diversity – a place where wood has been inspiring people for over 150 years.
The long-established family business Holz-Leute has been successfully operating an online shop for many years. However, before we started working together, there was an urgent need for action: the existing shop, taken over from another agency, suffered from numerous technical problems. Performance weaknesses, visual errors and functional limitations impaired the user experience. In addition, the connection to the JTL ERP system was faulty, which complicated background processes. Holz-Leute clearly needed long-term, reliable technical support and further development.
Our approach was to stabilise the platform technically while significantly improving the user experience. This included comprehensive bug fixes, targeted performance optimisations and a revamped design. With a modern layout, improved navigation, optimised product presentation and expanded filter options, the shop was given a fresh, user-friendly structure – even on mobile devices. At the same time, the connection to JTL was optimised to ensure smooth processes. The whole thing was complemented by long-term support with regular maintenance, updates, support and monitoring.
The measures led to significantly improved shop performance and a noticeably higher conversion rate. Loading times were optimised, SEO measures showed clear ranking improvements, and sales increased sustainably. Through continuous support and further development, the project has grown into a long-standing, successful partnership that keeps the Holz-Leute online shop constantly up to date.
